I first came across the Fat Loss 4 Idiots Diet in October 2005. I have followed the rules every since. When I get lazy my weight fluctuates and it is not because I eat more it is because I don’t follow the mixing rules. I don’t follow the dessert rule or I eat only 3 meals instead of 4. There are a couple of things I don't like about this diet. For the first 11 days I used the accelerated plan (you generate an 11-day diet menu based on questions you answer) and that was easy and fine. But when I do my own menu planning it gets really boring because there are certain types of foods that I am not crazy about. In reality, I probably wasn't ever eating enough of those types of foods (protein) before but some days the quantity of those types of foods is more than I can bear... But bear it I do because it works. This leads me to the second problem.

In time I wanted to expand my knowledge of the right kind of food to eat. What do I mean by that? Well...for me this diet has more or less become a regular way of eating. That is how I keep the weight off! Without being obsessive about it I simply continue to follow the principles. But in one respect the list of foods prescribed by the diet plan is somewhat narrow. And it really does get boring!

I wanted to know how to incorporate other healthy foods into the diet without breaking the fat-burning effectiveness of the rules. I like quinoa and millet and buckwheat pancakes! I also like to eat plenty of beans or legumes (lentils, chick peas, black beans). These things are not specifically mentioned in the plan. So where do these foods fit into the Fat Loss 4 Idiots scheme?

Furthermore, there is no way to ask these diet-related questions.You cannot contact these people by email and there is certainly no discussion center. The only way to make contact is by snail mail and they clearly state that they cannot (or will not) answer any mail related to diet questions. They direct you to their FAQs page and will only respond to issues related to payment or downloading or logging into the diet program.

In the meantime, I’ve done my own research and experimented to learn how these other foods fit into the categories used by the Fat Loss 4 Idiots Diet.
